Carolyn Rodríguez, permanent representative of Guyana to the UN, pointed out her government gives highest priority to respect for the principles of sovereign equality of States and those of non-intervention and non-interference in their internal affairs.
As a matter of principle, she expressed, Guyana remains coherent and firm in its stance against the economic, financial and commercial blockade imposed by the White House on Cuba for over 60 years, and also calls on to put an immediate end to such a hostile policy.
“We are deeply concerned about the inclusion of Cuba on the list of State sponsoring terrorism, even at a time when Cuba is presently recovering from the Covid-19 pandemic and the effects of deadly Category 3 Hurricane Ian,” she said.
