In Senate races in three key U.S. states including Arizona, Pennsylvania and Georgia, the Blue Party are ahead, according to The New York Times and Siena College poll.
Senator Mark Kelly (D-AZ) has largest lead over conservative Blake Masters by a margin of 51 to 45%; while in Georgia, Senator Raphael Warnock narrowly leads in a close race over his Republican opponent Herschel Walker, 49 to 46%.
Plus, Democratic Lieutenant Governor John Fetterman is slightly ahead of conservative Turkish-American television presenter Mehmet Oz, former TV anchor, by a margin of 49 to 44%.
Nevada has the closest race, with Democratic Sen. Catherine Cortez Masto and her Republican opposition Adam Laxalt, tied with 47%.
The Blue party currently controls the Senate 50-50, with Vice President Kamala Harris as the tie-breaking vote, meaning that, to win a majority, GOP needs to hit just one more seat.
The midterm elections are taking place in an unprecedented political climate, and represents the first national assessment since the Covid-19 pandemic declined, following the Jan. 6 Capitol insurrection and in a post-Constitutional abortion rights repeal environment.
