More US weapons to Ukraine

Armas-EEUU-Ucrania
Washington, Oct 29 (Prensa Latina) The US State Department authorized 275 million dollars more in arms and ammunition for Ukraine, just when the internal calls to find a diplomatic solution to the conflict between Kiev and Moscow are increasing.

An official communication available today on the website of the agency, directed by Antony Blinken, recalls that this new delivery is the fourth since August 2021, and the total amount of aid amounts to an unprecedented level of more than 18.5 billion dollars since the beginning of the current administration.

He added that work is also underway to provide Ukraine with two US-supplied Advanced Surface-to-Air Missile Systems (Nasams) ready for delivery next month.

Calls for President Joe Biden’s administration to find a peaceful way out of the Russia-Ukraine conflict have increased in the US in recent days.

Thirty liberal members of the US House of Representatives sent a letter to the president earlier this week asking him to change his strategy towards Kiev and make a deal with Russia.

For its part, the Quincy Institute for Responsible Statecraft revealed that the delivery of weapons to Ukraine, without a diplomatic strategy to end the conflict with Russia, risks prolonging the dispute, increasing humanitarian suffering, or even escalating into a direct confrontation between Washington and Moscow.
