Kazakhstan values positively cooperation in CIS

Astana, Oct 28 (Prensa Latina) The Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Alikhan Smailov said that his country welcomes the deepening cooperation in the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS).

“This collaboration meets national interests of all member states and it is encouraging that new forms of interactions continue to be sought in the current difficult conditions,” Smailov said this Friday, speaking at the meeting of the Council of Heads of Government of the CIS.

Smailov pointed out that the current gathering is an opportunity to carry out an exhaustive exchange of opinions on the interaction within the entity, as well as the current issues on the regional and international economic agenda.

In addition to the prime minister of Kazakhstan, this year’s CIS chair, the heads of government of Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, as well as deputy prime ministers of Armenia and Turkmenistan are participating in the meeting.

This is the second meeting of the Council so far this year and the 80th since the formation of the CIS in 1991.
