Syria rejects militia actions against UN agencies

Damascus, Oct 27 (Prensa Latina) The Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Thursday rejected the recent hostile acts by the separatist Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) militia against offices of international agencies in the country's northeastern region.

We condemn the attacks by those separatist groups against the offices of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and the World Health Organization (WHO) in the city of Qamishli and other towns in Hasakeh province, the Foreign Ministry noted in a statement. The report called on the countries sponsoring the SDF, especially the United States and its Western allies, to press these militias to stop such acts.

The United Nations and its agencies deal appropriately with such behaviors that hinder their humanitarian work in Syria, the press release concluded.

SANA news agency reported that an armed group belonging to the SDF militia attacked and destroyed the WHO offices in Qamishli.
