President of Mexico satisfied with inflation drop

Amlo inflacion Mexico
Mexico City, Oct 24 (Prensa Latina) President of Mexico Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador expressed satisfaction that inflation began to descend, "although very little," he clarified.

He stressed that the decision to allocate subsidies to gasoline and diesel has a lot to do with this small decline.

He revealed that more oil is produced with a price above 70 dollars a barrel, which was once over 100.

The issue came to the president’s morning conference at the National Palace due to the latest report from the National Institute of Statistics (INEGI), which acknowledges that annual inflation fell to 8.53 percent in the first half of October.

The products and services that registered price increases and had the greatest incidence on inflation during the period were electricity, tomatoes, services in lunch shops, inns, tortilla shops and taco shops, corn tortillas, low-octane gasoline, restaurants and the like, pasteurized and fresh milk; package tour services and beer.

However, this was partially offset by lower prices for domestic gas, potatoes and other tubers, onions, avocados, oranges, lemons, chicken, eggs, apples, and skin creams.
