Ukrainian shelling causes civilian casualties in Russian city

Moscow, Oct 22 (Prensa Latina) The health minister of the Russian region of Belgorod, Vladimir Ikónnikov, said two people died and 12 were injured by bombing of the Ukrainian army against the city of Shebekino.

According to the official, after the artillery impacts, 14 people were injured in this small town of Belgor TASS news agency said on Saturday.

Ikonnikov added that five people are hospitalized: one of them is in serious condition at the Belgorod Municipal Hospital and underwent surgery, while the other four are admitted to the Shebekino Central Regional Hospital, three of them underwent surgery and are reported serious.

Belgorod Governor Viacheslav Gladkov also reported that about 15,000 people in Shebekino were also left without electricity as a result of the shelling.

According to Gladkov, the fire has already been extinguished and electrical engineers have also reported that the electricity supply has been fully restored.

Belgorod is a region in southern Russia bordering the Ukrainian province of Kharkov, and since the very beginning of Russia’s special military operation in Ukraine on February 24, it has been the object of permanent artillery attacks by the Ukrainian armed forces. .
