“We will work to remain open to dialogue with other states and strengthen ties with other nations despite pressure from the West,” Mishustin said at a meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council.
According to the official, the council will contribute to the strategic directions of progress of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), and to the new areas of cooperation: education, health, tourism and sports.
“These areas have a direct impact on all residents of our association and therefore the implementation of strategic directions must be a priority for each member of our integration association,” Mishustin stated.
In addition, he evaluated that the main socioeconomic indicators of the member states during the last 10 years have showed a positive trend, the gross domestic product per capita grew by more than a third above the world average.
“Our union is a reliable foundation for the development of the entire Eurasia region. Together, I am sure, we will achieve positive results for the sake of improving the well-being of our citizens,” said the head of the Russian Cabinet.
The Eurasian Intergovernmental Council held its session in Yerevan, as part of the fulfillment of the tasks of the EAEU, made up of Russia, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan. Among its priorities is the promotion of the free circulation of goods, services, capital and work.
