The return of the story on the royal family is scheduled for November 9 and, although the creative team guaranteed its arrival without buts, some insist on the need to remove the drama from the platform or make some adjustments to its plot.
One of the comments in this regard came from former prime minister of that country, John Major, who described the audiovisual as ‘harmful, malicious and full of nonsense’ because, apparently, his name appears in the series involved in an alleged plot related to the line of succession to the crown.
According to “The Hollywood Reporter”, the renowned actress Judi Dench joined the chorus of Major, claiming that “the plot of Prince Charles and Queen Elizabeth is cruelly unfair to the people and harmful to the institution they represent.”
Faced with such claims, Netflix ruled in a statement confirming that, although the material takes its argument from historical facts, it is a fictional dramatization that imagines what happened behind closed doors during an important decade for the royal family.
So the fifth season will come to recreate a reflective Elizabeth with the approach of the 40th anniversary of her accession to her throne, while her son, Prince Charles, insists on his divorce with Diana presenting a crisis for constitutional monarchy.
