Among the measures, the Parliament directed to turn off the lights of the facade during the early morning and promote the use of public transport among its employees.
Lights in meeting rooms and offices inside the Parliament building will be turned off when empty, as will air conditioners when the rooms are not in use, and will have to be set to a maximum temperature of 25 degrees.
Other provisions concern the increase in spaces for parking bicycles and the limitation of chargers for electric vehicles.
Drivers will also have to turn off their vehicle engines when parked around Parliament.
The Prime Minister, Antonio Costa, announced in early September a valued package of provisions to support the income of Portuguese households with the aim of mitigating the effects of inflation and the increase in energy prices.
