At least 105 Palestinians, including 26 minors, have been killed by Israeli forces since January, the UN official stressed.
In October alone, 15 Palestinians, including six minors, were killed in the West Bank and Jerusalem by the Israeli army, she stated.
“In some cases, they did not appear to pose a concrete or imminent threat to justify the use of lethal force, raising concerns of excessive use of force,” she said.
Elmi also expressed concern about the increasing Israeli restrictions on the movement of Palestinians in the area.
“Israel authorities have a legal responsibility to ensure the protection of all Palestinians,” she said.
Given the situation, she called for a de-escalation to avoid further losses of lives as well as to protect civilians and guarantee access to essential humanitarian services.
