According to the Syrian deputy minister, the school was opened inside a Palmyra educational complex, which was rebuilt thanks to Moscow’s support and liberated from terrorism by the joint forces of the two nations in 2016.
Hakim Hamad explained that the ministry is working to secure the requirements for teaching this language in Syria’s schools in cooperation with the Russian Ministry of Education based on specific educational methodologies and training courses.
In turn, Gribov said that experts and specialists, who ensure their highest quality and allow students to continue their education in Russian universities, supervise the Russian language schools in Syria.
On the other hand, an Olympiad of the Russian Language was held at Al-Baath University in central Homs province.
The inclusion of the Russian language in the curricula in Syria started on an experimental basis in the 2014-2015 academic year and is taught by 190 teachers in 217 schools in 12 governorates.
