The sum represents a seven-percent growth compared to 2021, said the president of the Association of Crafts and Wood Industry in Ho Chi Minh City, Nguyen Quoc Khanh.
The entity and the Vinexad company co-sponsor the 14th International Exhibition of Industrial Machinery and Equipment for the Wood Industry (VietnamWood 2022) and the International Exhibition of Furniture, Hardware and Tools for this Sector (Furniec 2022) taking place in Ho Chi Minh City until next October 21st.
According to Quoc Khanh, VietnamWood has become a technological event representative of the wood industry on a national scale, offering participants the opportunity to learn about new production methods to raise the quality of their merchandises.
With the outstanding growth in the field of home furnishings in recent years, Vietnam has become the second largest exporter of wooden furniture in the world.
Sustainable wood sources continue to be used in the Socialist Republic of Vietnam with the aim of making it a secure production base for various markets, including the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada and Japan.
According to a government project on sustainable development of wood industry, Vietnam’s exports and by-products could reach over 18 billion dollars in 2025 and surpass 20 billion dollars in 2030.
