“According to the statements we heard from Germany, France, Denmark, it seems that the investigation being carried out, a priori, is in line with an attempt to attribute responsibility to Russia, but this is absurd”, the spokesman said, as quoted on Tuesday by the Sputnik news agency.
Peskov highlighted that intel in possession of Russian Intelligence shows the opposite, adding that simple logic must be used to understand that this sabotage causes great harm to Russian interests.
The spokesman also pointed out that it is unfortunate that this entire process is carried out in a closed format without the participation or collaboration with the Russian side, co-owner of the damaged gas pipelines.
The Nord Stream AG company, which manages the operation of the pipelines that transport Russian gas to Germany via the bottom of the Baltic Sea, reported on September 27th about “unprecedented destruction” the day before.
According to the entity, two of the tubes and one of the Nord Stream 2 of the Nord Stream 1 pipeline were ruptured.
On September 26th, two explosions were registered by Swedish seismologists on the site of the pipelines.
The Russian Prosecutor General’s Office launched a criminal case the incident, considering it an act of international terrorism for the damage caused.
