“We are advancing on the right way of the bilateral cooperation, and we will continue to provide what we can to the Syrian people until we achieve their well-being,” Lavrentiev told reporters after the delivery of a photovoltaic station to the Mar Tekla monastery in the town of Maaloula, north of Damascus.
The senior Russian official acknowledged that there is much work to do despite the difficult conditions the two countries are going through. In the same context, the Russian delegations participating in the fifth conference on refugee return currently being held in Damascus delivered medical and food aid in several Syrian provinces.
The Al-Nahda Hospital in the central city of Homs received assistance from a delegation of the Russian Reconciliation Center, including medical equipment and food baskets for the workers of the medical institution.
“This assistance is a message of love to the Syrian people from the Russian people and its leadership, and is a symbolic expression that we in Russia are with the Syrian people everywhere, to fight terrorism and restore stability,” the delegation’s representative Eric Sakita said.
The aid includes food, school supplies, and medical equipment and supplies to help people with special needs.
