According to General Oleg Yegorov, Deputy Chief of the Moscow Ministry of Defense’s Syrian-Russian Coordination Center at the Hemeimem Airbase in Latakia province, the action took place in Jassem, Dara’a province, about 100 kilometers south of Damascus.
The official said that two dozen jihadists of the Islamic State terrorist organization, Daesh in Arabic, were neutralized, including four who perpetrated the attack on the vehicle.
A roadside bomb near Saboura, 15 kilometers northwest of Damascus, exploded against a military transport bus on October 13, killing 19 soldiers and injuring 27 others.
