The truckers’ spokesman, Dario Toñanez, explained that the meeting will be attended by leaders from a number of departments and specialties.
He announced that the agenda includes asking Roman to reveal the amount of the tariff reduction, insisting on the transparency of Petropar’s costs and requiring that the intergovernmental contribution be halted so that the profits can be reinvested in the fuel prices, ADN digital newspaper reported.
Toñanez added that they will also ask Roman to set up a dialogue table to give continuity to these problems in a fluid manner.
Last Tuesday, the union leader reported that the mobilizations will resume if no reduction in fuel prices is achieved after discussions with the president of Petropar. “We are getting organized, we have the support of other sectors (…), this is going to be at the country level,” he said.
The President of Paraguay Mario Abdo Benítez promised to lower fuel prices, but to date Petropar has only made minimal reductions to some types of fuel.
