Rodrigues, one of the coordinators of the elective campaign of former president Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, explained in an interview granted to TV 247 that the Federal Supreme Court was asked to open an investigation into the matter. “We ask for an urgent statement from the president and measures to protect the victims. This needs to be clarified,” Rodrigues said.
Last Friday, in a conversation with Internet content producers, Bolsonaro spoke of the arrival of Venezuelans in the country and narrated an encounter with girls between the ages of 14 and 15 during a motorcycle ride on the outskirts of Brasilia.
Recounting the situation, Bolsonaro said that he spoke to the girls, found them pretty and hinted that they could have been prostituting themselves.
His statement generated wide repercussion and continues to be strongly criticized by his opponents on social media.
In this regard, Bolsonaro said that “the last 24 hours have been the most terrible of my life. An infamous, sordid accusation of pedophilia.”
Despite the president’s arguments, Rodrigues wrote on a social network about “the need to investigate three possible crimes: prevarication, violation of the vulnerable and favoring prostitution or another form of sexual exploitation of a child or adolescent or vulnerable. Nothing can go unpunished in this case that has shocked everyone!” he remarked.
