The organization’s spokesman, Meles Adelman, assured that the country is ready to host the event.
About 300 participants, including leaders of government institutions from a number of countries, have already arrived on site, where they will remain until next Sunday, Adelman stated.
The Tana Forum is organized by the Institute for Peace and Security Studies of the University of Addis Ababa, and responds to the Tripoli Declarations of the African Union (August 2009), when the heads of state and governments of Africa requested the application of continental strategies to resolve the challenges of peace and security.
Experts, specialists and activists participate on a yearly basis in discussion panels and meetings with the public to exchange points of view and experiences on the subject.
This edition will also promote the participation of citizens in matters related to stability in Africa.
