On Tuesday, as many as 94,753 cases were reported and 67,948 on Wednesday, which explains an incidence of 584 infected people per 100,000 inhabitants.

Public Health France reported 18,590 hospital admissions, 403 more than those registered on Wednesday, while ICU patient toll rose to 959.

Earlier this month, the French government activated a vaccination campaign, focused on administrating a booster dose for vulnerable people and those aged over 60.

Regarding death cases, Public Health France reported 62 new deaths in the last 24 hours, bringing the country´s overall death toll to 155,737.
