According to the official Twitter account of the Cuban Government, it is the fifth time that the head of State has visited the Vueltabajo region after being hit by the hurricane.
Among the priorities defined by Cuba’s highest authorities, the restoration of the power services, and water supply and the restitution of the damages to housing, with more than 99,000 homes affected, stand out.
As part of the work to rehabilitate power lines in Pinar del Rio, 43.49 percent of customers already have electricity, although some towns such as San Juan y Martinez and San Luis face greater complexities.
Other figures refer to the planting of 546 hectares of various crops, including grains and vegetables, the permanence of 6,151 people in evacuation centers and the restitution of 96 and 89 percent of mobile and land telephony, respectively.
For his part, National People’s Power Assembly President Esteban Lazo visited the Niceto Perez council, in Artemisa province, with the purpose of verifying the recovery works in that territory.
