During his speech at the opening of the 36th Islamic Unity Conference in Tehran, he called the Palestinian issue a priority for the Islamic world, reaffirmed Iran’s support, and stressed that the unity of Islamic countries could have prevented many bloody conflicts and wars in the region.
He described the peace negotiations with the Israeli regime to resolve the long-standing conflict as a total failure; “those who thought that the way to save Palestine is at the negotiating tables and talking to those who do not understand logic, were wrong and they saw that the process of reconciliation with the Zionists failed and that of the resistance won.”
Similarly, he criticized the Arab nations that normalized relations with Tel Aviv and warned that this rapprochement “will never guarantee the security” of the Israeli regime.
On the methods used by the West to destabilize the Arab states and weaken them, Raisi emphasized that the hegemonic powers try to install puppet governments in Muslim countries, form terrorist groups to assassinate and loot their resources, desecrate Islamic saints and the Prophet of Islam, and spread extremist thought among the Muslim community.
Raisi called for unity among Muslims to thwart these plots. “Unity is not a tactic for us, but a principled strategy.”
