Lavrov says US military are in Ukraine, as Russia continues attacks

Serguie-lavarov
Moscow, Oct 11 (Prensa Latina) There is growing evidence that there are military personnel from the US and other Western countries on the ground in Ukraine, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said on Tuesday, as Moscow continued for a second day in a row missile attacks on Ukrainian critical infrastructures.

“Regular servicemen of the American army, as well as the armies of a number of European countries are constantly working ‘on the ground,’ including assisting in the calculations of the gun complexes, US-made HIMARS multiple launch rocket systems, helping to use them in the military hostilities,” Lavrov told the Rossiya 1 broadcaster.

The minister stressed Moscow does not have a 100% proof of this information, but the evidence was multiplying and the West was starting to realize that they are going a little bit further than they intended.

Russia began large-scale precision missile strikes on Ukrainian infrastructure, including energy, military communications and command posts on Monday, in retaliation to Saturday’s terror attack against the Crimean Bridge and other acts of terror attributed to Kiev.

On Tuesday, the Armed Forces continued to conduct massed strikes using high-precision, long-range air and sea-based weapons at military command and control facilities and the energy system of Ukraine. The goal of the strikes has been reached. All designated targets were hit,” MoD spokesman Igor Konashenkov said in a statement.

There is also news that Ukraine bombed a Russian power plant in the Russian city of Shebekino, close to the border province of Belgorod.

The shells damaged the transformer of the power substation and more than 2,000 residents were left without electricity, Belgorod’s Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov wrote in Telegram, specifying that the attack left no fatalities nor injuries.

In another piece of news, Lavrov also said presidents of Russia and the US might meet on the sidelines of the G20 summit in Indonesia, provided that Washington actually wants to participate.

“We never reject meetings, and if such a proposal comes, we will consider it,” the top diplomat explained during an interview on Russian television on Tuesday.

He stressed that no such proposal had been sent by the US so far, contrary to what some people may believe.
