The meeting is paying tribute to Comandante Ernesto Che Guevara on the 55th anniversary of his assassination on Saturday and recalls the 100th anniversary of the November 15 general strike and massacre in Guayaquil, which is considered the first bloodbath of the Ecuadorian proletariat.

Cuban Ambassador to Ecuador Basilio Gutierrez gave a keynote speech on Friday, in which he referred to the struggles that currently unite the Latin American nations.

Participants in the Assembly are discussing the work projections for the 2022-2024 period and will elect a new board of directors of the Ecuadorian Coordinating Committee of the Movement of Friendship and Solidarity with Cuba (CEMASC).

The meeting is reviving actions in all provinces and unity of goodwill people who are on the side of the greatness of the Cuban Revolution, CEMASC leader Milton Chamorro said in the call to the event.
