The Ministry of Foreign Affairs accused Washington of politicizing and using the obstruction of Chinese companies access to US components and systems as a weapon.
However, it predicted severe damage to US firms because its Government was determined to maintain the technological hegemony.
On Friday, the US Department of Commerce banned exporting machinery, chips, or semiconductors for supercomputers and artificial intelligence to China.
It also adjusted a rule extending the extraterritorial coverage of export controls to certain foreign-produced items.
The White House reported that both decisions restrict China’s ability to obtain cutting-edge technology to develop supercomputers and manufacture advanced semiconductors for military applications.
