The Ministry of Economic Development specified that Russia has put large sums of capital for the development of Iran, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan, the official website of the Forum, which meets in Moscow.
According to the competent authorities, some 12,000 companies with Russian capital are working in different areas of the Kazakh economy, such as energy, the chemical and petrochemical industries, and the agricultural machinery, pharmaceutical, construction, transport and information technology sectors.
From March to July alone, more than two thousand new Russian companies opened in Kazakhstan, according to the Russian Ministry of Economic Development.
Russian companies also operate in different economic areas of Turkmenistan, in particular in the spheres of gas, oil and transportation.
There are more than a thousand companies with Russian capital in Azerbaijan. At the beginning of 2022, Russia’s total investments in the economy of Azerbaijan reached 6.3 billion dollars, 5 billion of which correspond to the oil sector.
Trade with Iran reached six billion dollars, said the Russian Ministry of Economic Development, and added that trade between the five Caspian countries grew by 66 percent in the last six years.
