The ministry issued a statement denouncing the attacks suffered by cameraman Loai Samhan and reporter Mahmoud Fawzy during an operation in the town of Deir al-Hatab, in the north of the West Bank.
The statement accused the Tel Aviv government, and especially the Army, of trying to silence the voice of the Palestinian people with these actions.
So far this year, the military has killed two Palestinian reporters: Abu Aqleh, killed by a gunshot to the head in the refugee camp of Jenin, and Ghofran Warasnah, near the city of Hebron, to the south.
According to the Wafa news agency, in 2021 the Israeli military committed 384 violations against journalists working in the occupied Palestinian territory.
