The newspaper Kazakhstanskaya Pravda highlighted that Tokaev was nominated for the Presidency of the Republic of Kazakhstan by a unanimous resolution during the 24th Congress of Amanat, as announced by the executive secretary of the party, Askhat Oralov.
The candidacy was also endorsed by several social organizations, with a lot of participation in Kazakh political life, such as the KazVolunteers network, the Civil Alliance of Kazakhstan, the Council of Generals and the Team Kazakhstan youth movement.
Tokayev said during a public event in the province of Pavlodar, that, as head of state, he must maintain an equidistant position between various parties and blocs and stand for a broad coalition of political and social forces that are the basis of the ongoing reforms.
