In statements to Prensa Latina, the scientific coordinator of that Cuban institution indicated the text is notably transcendent, since it links the work of Ernesto Guevara with that of other thinkers of the Latin American continent, as a reflection of the validity of his ideas.
In the Manuel Galich room of the Casa de las Américas where the presentation took place, Ariet pointed out that the publication deals with the events of the Conference of the Latin American Solidarity Organization (OLAS), as an immediate antecedent to the Tricontinental Conference in Havana in 1966, which supported the advance in the fight against imperialism.
The Center’s research yearbook proposes a different look at the historical treatment of OLAS, which shows its contribution to the cause of emancipation and the search for peace in the region.
As part of the 95th anniversary of Che’s birth, next year’s 10th edition of the magazine will be dedicated to the historical leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro, and will offer articles that will show the contacts between the main lines of thought of both figures.
