In 2018, as many as 521 complaints were registered, 960 (2019), 915 (2020) and 2,796 in 2021, “accounting for 400% more cases than in previous years,” the Prosecutor’s Office posted on Twitter.
Regions with most registered child pornography cases were Asunción, Central, Alto Paraná and Cordillera.
Up to August 2022, the Prosecutor’s Office received 1,390 child pornography complaints, while May was the month with highest toll (222).
According to Última Hora newspaper, among various episodes reported include possession, distribution, creation and downloading of child pornography, as well as possession of sexual images or other materials related to child sex abuse.
