Russia’s investigation on gas pipeline sabotage points to the West

Moscow, Sep 30 (Prensa Latina) the head of Russia’s Foreign Intelligence Service, Sergei Naryshkin, told the press that investigation into the sabotage of the Nord Stream points to the West.

According to Naryshkin, the West does “everything possible” to hide “the true” responsible parties and the organizers of the action.

According to information from the Russian Prosecutor General’s Office, damage to the pipeline was reported on September 26th in the vicinity of the island of Bornholm.

The spokeswoman for the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, stated previously that the Nord Stream leaks took place in an area controlled by US intelligence services.

The Russian ambassador in Washington, Anatoli Antonov, also denounced the fact that recent attempts by some US legislators to blame Russia for the events surrounding the Nord Stream 1 and 2 pipelines may indicate the opposite.

He added that before speaking out they should analyze the activity of the United States warships a day before in the same area where the failure in the pipelines took place.

The diplomat also urged them to watch the underwater demolitions exercises conducted by the US navy in the same affected area some time ago.

In the face of all this evidence, the United States Secretary of State, Anthony Blinken, denied Washington’s involvement in the event.

Nord Stream AG described as “unprecedented” the failures caused to the two pipelines.
