On Twitter, the Cuban leader alluded to Arce´s words recognizing the Cuban people´s courage and strength ahead of damage caused by Hurricane Ian.
Jacqueline McLaren, Mayor of Glasgow in the United Kingdom (UK), also sent a solidarity message to Cuba, especially to those affected by Hurricane Ian. Jamaican Prime Minister Andrew Michel Holness offered his deepest condolences for the two deaths and material damage.
Previously, Guatemala´s Foreign Ministry reported on communication with nationals living in Cuba, and Sacha Llorenti, ALBA-TCP Executive Secretary, attested to “Cuba’s strength and unbreakable spirit”.
According to the Cuban Foreign Ministry (MINREX), among the first ones in expressing their solidarity support ahead of devastation caused by Hurricane Ian were Presidents of Venezuela Nicolás Maduro; of Mexico Andrés Manuel López Obrador and of Nicaragua Daniel Ortega.
