In a meeting at the Akasaka Palace, the Cuban PM reiterated his heartfelt condolences for the death of former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe who paid an official visit to Cuba.
PM Marrero harped on the Cuban people´s admiration for Japan, conveying Army General Raúl Castro´s and President Miguel Díaz-Canel´s greetings, while thanking Japanese government´s stance on supporting Cuba against the US blockade.
As part of the Non-Refundable Financial Aid, the solidarity with Cuba, Cuban prime minister thanked the Japanese government for donating medical equipment and vehiclestransportation.
Kishida, on the other hand, also thanked Manuel Marrero for attending Abe’s funeral, by stressing the Japanese government would develop the diplomatic legacy inherited from the former prime minister.
Plus, Japanese PM regretted damage caused by Hurricane Ian across Cuba, while recalling his visit to Havana back in 2015 by exchanging with Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro about separate issues including historical friendship between both countries.
