“A people in Revolution has sovereignly built one of the most advanced Codes in the world,” he tweeted.
Cuba’s National Electoral Council president Alina Balseiro reported Monday that the new Family Code was ratified with 3,936,700 ballots in favor, accounting for 66.87 percent of the valid votes.
According to Balseiro, 6,251,786 Cubans cast their vote, which accounted for 74.01 percent of the main report of 8,447,467 people registered, and 5,891,705 of the total number of ballots deposited in the ballot boxes were valid.
