The contest will conclude this Sunday with the awards ceremony of the local publisher Sed de Belleza and the Casa Seoane scholarship in poetry and narrative.
The young poet Elizabeth Casanova, head of the literature section of the Hermanos Saiz Association (AHS) in the province of Villa Clara, told Prensa Latina today that the event has had great depth and professionalism in the topics discussed on Latin American poetry.
She indicated that emphasis is placed on the main trends that are occurring in young poetry in Colombia, a workshop that was led by Jorge Valbuena, a prestigious writer from that country.
The young Chilean writers Aldo González and Tati Torres also participated in the contest, who spoke about the work of the coterráneo poet Omar Lara, one of the essential voices of contemporary poetry.
Also participating in the colloquiums are prominent figures of Cuban narrative such as the 2018 Casa de las Américas Literary Prize winner, Rafael de Águila, and local writers Lorenzo Lunar and Yandrey Lay, among others.
On Sunday, there will be a panel on narrative for children in which outstanding writers of the genre will take part, such as Mildre Hernández, Leidy González and Maylén Domínguez, with a musical closing by the Maikel Elisalde quartet.
