The prime minister arrived in Havana Friday night for fulfilling an agenda that also included laying a wreath at the monument to National Hero José Martí, and also meetings with the President of the National Assembly of People´s Power (ANPP) Esteban Lazo.
On September 3, during a visit by Cuba’s First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Gerardo Peñalver Portal, leaders of Cambodia reiterated their sympathy for the Cuban Revolution and their willingness to expand bilateral cooperation.
In that meeting, both sides highlighted the strength of political ties and traditional cooperation in ealth, sports, culture and education, and also recalled talks with the current Cambodian prime minister and Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro Ruz in 1999.
Cambodia has always acknowledged before international organizations its strong support to Cuba in confronting the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States for more than 60 years.
