The donation, approved by the bank, aims to preserve the safety of families affected by a series of landslides that occurred in the Honduran capital.
According to press reports, the donation will help meet the most urgent needs of the displaced populations in the disaster and high-risk areas of Guillén, Colina Nueva, Santa Rosa, and surrounding areas.
CABEI assistance will be useful to purchase food and drinking water, medical attention, mattresses, and shelter materials, as well as build or repairing houses.
Last week, Tegucigalpa mayor Jorge Aldama declared a sector of this city as a disaster zone due to several landslides caused by a geological fault activated by rains.
