The shelling of the Armed Forces of Ukraine damaged the building of the reactor and the refrigeration system, as well as the canteen, where the plant’s employees were when the attack began, the Sputnik agency reported on Wednesday.

No victims were reported among the workers of the plant or among the personnel of the Russian National Guard guarding the perimeter, the information specifies.

For the past few weeks, Moscow has accused Kiev of bombing the plant’s facilities on a daily basis.

Kremlin authorities argue that the presence of the military at the plant seeks to prevent leaks of nuclear and radioactive materials.

On September 8th, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) published a report in which it called for an immediate end to the bombing of the plant to prevent damage to its facilities and guarantee the safety of the personnel who work there, although it failed to report whose side is carrying out the shelling.
