“As foreigner I cannot vote, but I have read the new bill thoroughly and I think it is quite inclusive and encompassing for a better protection, rights and inclusion in society of every Cuban person,” the sixth-year medical student said.
President of the University Student Federation (FEU) of the Villa Clara Medical School, Hassan defined himself “as a Cuban born in another land, in this case Pakistan, as approved by our Commander in Chief Fidel Castro.”
“I´ve had many opportunities to be acquainted with both Cuban history and culture, I have done very well in here. Cuban families are quite supportive, friendly, warm-hearted, full of love and tenderness,” Hassan stated.
“If you pass by any Cuban family house, they always offer you a cup of coffee, whatever they have, and treat you as if they had known you all the entire life, and that kind of people really deserve a family code that provides respect and solidarity, especially to children and the elderly,” he pointed out.
