According to a communique from the Ministry, the actions are part of the international military cooperation program between vessels of the Russian Navy and the Chinese People’s Liberation Army.
The Ministry stated that the vessels practice tactical maneuvering, communications, practical artillery shooting, and facilitate helicopter flight decks.
The objectives of the patrolling are to maintain peace and stability in the Asia-Pacific region, monitor sea waters, and protect Russian and Chinese maritime economic activity facilities, according to the communique.
The Russian and Chinese navies conducted their first joint patrolling in October 2021.
