The official documents were signed in Havana by José Angel Portal Miranda, Public Health Minister; Yamila de Armas Águila, President of the Medical Services Commercialization Company; and Odete Maria Freitas Belo, Timor-Leste´s Health Minister.
As reported by the Cuban News Agency (ACN), an Academic Services Agreement was also reached to train Timorese professionals in different medical specialties in Cuba.
At the end of the ceremony, Portal Miranda expressed Cuba´s willingness to strengthen collaboration and support to Timor-Leste´s health system.
Odete Maria Freitas Belo, on the other hand, reaffirmed friendship ties that unite the two countries and also thanked the work done by the Cuban medical brigade, which has been contributing to improving health indicators in Timor-Leste.
