Serbian president warns of danger of conflicts in Kosovo

Belgrade, Sep 13 (Prensa Latina) The danger of a military conflict in Kosovo due to Pristina's unilateral measures is close and severe, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic warned at a special meeting of the Assembly (Parliament) on Tuesday.

We are at a time in which Serbia, due to Pristina’s steps, is facing major security challenges, the president stated, quoted on Moscow television.

According to Vucic, the presence of the special police forces in northern Kosovo and Metohija has increased, and their posts have strengthened.

The Serbian Assembly holds a special meeting on Tuesday dedicated to the situation in Kosovo, which takes place in the context of the West’s pressure, demands for concessions, and imposition to recognize the self-proclaimed republic.

In a meeting of the National Security Council on Saturday, Vucic exposed that Pristina, contrary to previous agreements, was building bases for the Kosovo-Albanian special forces in the northern Serbian-populated province.

Belgrade and Pristina, mediated by the European Union, reached a compromise on August 27 on the exit/entry of Serbs and Albanians from central Serbia to Kosovo and Metohija, with Serb and Kosovo Albanian identity cards.
