The event aims to strengthen the economic and commercial diplomacy promoted by the Government of Alejandro Giammattei and, during its first session, included speeches by Foreign Minister Mario Búcaro, Economy Minister Janio Rosales, and the director of the Guatemalan Tourism Institute, Anayansy Rodríguez.

“We welcome you, this meeting marks a milestone in history because, for the first time, we understand the impact of your work on the country,” Búcaro told the officials at the opening of the official act held on Monday.

The foreign minister praised the network’s role to promote the land of the Quetzal abroad and invited to take advantage of the broad work agenda that includes meetings with authorities from the Ministry of Economy, training, and approach to the micro, small, medium, and large-sized entrepreneurs interested in entering international markets.

For his part, Rosales highlighted the counselors’ promotion of more than 614 commercial agendas and more than 355 potential partners outside the national borders through virtual and face-to-face presentations.

The sessions will last until September 28 and include space to promote tourism in the different nations where Guatemala has diplomatic offices.
