The president of the Cuban Athletics Federation, Alejandro Puerto, explained that the change occurs due to the prevailing situation in the world, “fundamentally with diseases,” he stressed.

The circuit will be the same, starting from the Hemingway Marina and finishing at the Hotel Nacional de Cuba, in the three categories called: the elite event with a continental cup, the sprint, and the middle distance, he detailed.

The last two will be by category, he added, while highlighting the holding of all competitions on the same day to affect viability in the city as little as possible, especially in the part of the Havana boardwalk.

He mentioned an event similar to the Havana Triathlon, at the Olympic distance for young people from 16 to 23 years old, a request from the world athletics federation to develop this discipline, he added.
