Lula again warns Brazil´s democracy is in danger

Lula
Brasilia, Sep 12 (Prensa Latina) Former President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva on Monday warned democracy in Brazil is at higher risk level after receiving support of former Minister Marina Silva, proving divergent parties can coexist in harmony.

“This reunion is pivotal for several reasons, not only because of Marina´s quality program, but much more because of the political moment. My generation was not used to doing politics disseminating hatred and violence as we are seeing nowadays”, Lula pointed out, while describing it as a historic day for the Workers’ Party (PT), “for our candidacy and for those who dream of strengthening democracy in our country”.

Lula acknowledged he was never politically and ideologically distant from marina Silva, but unfortunately certain decisions took them apart.

“I do believe that we make political decisions that force us to take certain paths. We don’t always find ourselves on that path, but there are also moments in history when people meet again,” he assured.

Regarding the dangers Brazilian democracy is presently facing up, Lula cited the recent murders of municipal guard Marcelo Arruda and another worker by Bolsonaro´s two followers.

Faced with the facts, Lula insisted that the only reason why he has to be presidential candidate again is because we have to do more than what has been done.

“I don’t even want to use the word ‘govern’, we have to use the word ‘care’, because Brazilian people need care, mainly the poorest people, those who didn’t have a chance in life”, he remarked.
