In a speech delivered on the sidelines of the second day of the XIV Legislature of the Supreme People’s Assembly of the DPRK, the also President of State Affairs said the Executive works for the prosperity of the State and the promotion of the well-being of the people.

All of this, he noted, is in line with the requirement of the current stage of comprehensive development of socialist construction.

In the heat of the event, held at the Mansudae Congress Palace, a report was also presented on the policy of the DPRK’s nuclear forces, considered the backbone of the state’s defensive potential.

Our country, which lives under the permanent nuclear threat of US imperialism, must develop nuclear forces to the corresponding extent and constantly strengthen them, the document stated.

Commenting on the text, several speakers agreed that the current defensive policy is based on just principles, since it firmly defends the destiny of the country against the hostile aggressions of external forces.

Reflecting the will of the Korean people, deputies unanimously approved the adoption of the Nuclear Forces Policy Law, which lawmakers say is of utmost importance to the existence and development of the DPRK.

On the other hand, the meeting discussed the issue of internal organization, in which removals from positions and new promotions were reported.

According to official DPRK sources, this legislative conclave will go down in history as it “prepared the political and institutional apparatus” to guarantee the security and prosperity of future generations.
