On Twitter, the Cuban leader said “Eusebio has returned to beautify Havana on his 80th birthday, with his legacy in works and memory”.

Díaz-Canel added that “it will surely be so as long as continuators of his works go on being loyal to him and Cuba. Happy anniversary!

On Sunday, manifold activities will be held in Cuba in remembrance of Eusebio Leal (1942-2020) who was a tireless defender of the Havana history and all of Cuba.

Leal was the architect of the vast work developed to safeguard and enrich the Havana heritage for present and future generations, which made him worthy of great local and international recognition.
