The Federal Ministry of Information said that the leader of that radical group in the Mubarak village was Osman Daud, Radio Mogadishu broadcast.
It also indicated that lower-ranking al-Shabab representative Ow Maay, who was in charge of collecting money for the group in Mubarak’s community, was also killed in combat.
Upon noting that several civilians were wounded during the operation, the source added that the objective of the offensive was to attack one of the logistical bases of the armed militia, which extorts money from the people of Lower Shabelle.
