Prensa Latina interviewed Ruben Ramos, vice president of the Cuban Chamber of Commerce, a few hours before the conclave ended, to learn details about the Cuban presence in the event and the results obtained.
Ramos explained that the Cuban group, comprised of executives from 21 public and private companies from several sectors of the Cuban economy, is the first joint commercial delegation that ventures abroad in that format.
We seek with this composition to ensure that when we talk about the Cuban economy, we do it in the same language because “this is the necessary alliance to work for the development of our country.”
He assessed the receptivity among the Dominicans as excellent, “it could not be otherwise because the two countries and peoples are close friends.”
The vice president of the Chamber explained how the businessmen present exchanged with several sectors of this country, and reached some agreements, contracts, and letters of intent, although not everything will be closed immediately for diverse reasons, “the important thing is that we move forward in business related to trade in goods and services.”
