In an article entitled ¨Cuba: The absurdity of the “sponsor of terrorism” peace guarantor¨, it exposes elements that evidence absurdity for which Cuba has been included on that spurious list.
In this regard, Estrada recalled the Iván Duque administration´s attempts to break protocols between Colombia and Cuba, guarantor of the peace process with the National Liberation Army (ELN), by calling for the surrender of the ELN leaders following attack on the General Santander Police School.
“It is clear, therefore, that the Iván Duque government’s insistence on extraditing ELN´s members, in addition to an unfriendly, disobliging and perverse action against a government that for decades has expressed and proved its commitment to peace in Colombia, added to the strategy of the United States,” he stressed.
According to the Colombian academic, including Cuba in the US list was part of the purpose of tightening the infamous economic, commercial and financial blockade.
Estrada also praised that the new Colombian government, headed by Gustavo Petro, did what it should have done: make amends to the sister country and reject the US list inclusion.
In Estrada’s standpoint, just as so many nations have protested against the infamous blockade at the UN, voices should also be raised to exclude Cuba from the imperial list.
